Chocolate Goodies for Valentine’s Day
9 February 2010 by Jean JohnsonHere’s a video on making Chocolate Goodies. If you don’t have a grinder and go the cuisinart route, you might use a little brandy or juice to make things work.
The best thing about this chocolate offering is that those of us who don’t like dancing up close and personal with refined or artificial sugars, get to pass on all that and still have our chocolate.

So here’s my Valentine to you…

Neighbor Carolyne liked how the coarse salt in these goodies made the taste treat pop.
Indeed, that’s why salted caramel is all the rage now. And why we love Thai food so. And why our grandmothers at the very least put a pinch of regular salt in sweets.
A little salt alongside sugar is tantalizing. Especially when it’s coarse and used sparingly, it’s pretty nifty.

However, putting salt in the sugar bowl as an April Fool’s Day prank did not amuse my Dad in the slightest. I can laugh now but I sure found out how fast I could run when he tasted his morning coffee that day. LOL!!!

Hi, Jean, this is amazing. I am definitely going to make this and I even have an old fashioned meat grinder. However, I think it has already been packed for THE MOVE.
I’ll have to find another way to grind. I love that there are only 4 ingredients and that this is a no-bake treat which means no added electrical use in the making.

Right. It pleases the raw food people and the no refined sugar people. Plus it’s vegan. Quite the deal.
